A news e‑bulletin under Tejomaya — our annual souvenir edition
Growing together. Serving with purpose. Flourishing through action.
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”
To be Rooted in Purpose is to remember the ‘why’ behind everything we do. Our projects may take different forms, but at their heart lies one common intention—to serve with compassion, create meaningful change, and make every effort count. This quarter, we celebrate the people, stories and initiatives that remind us that when our roots are strong, our impact can reach far beyond us.
Together we serve. Together we inspire. Together we grow.
What better way to mark five years of IWCCHA than by taking the celebration to the streets? In collaboration with Roti on Wheels, we served freshly prepared rotis and sabzi to those in need—turning our milestone into a meal of warmth, dignity and care.

At IWCCHA, every initiative is more than an activity; it is a commitment to meaningful change. TTT is envisioned not merely as a record of the year, but as a way to keep our members, Inner Wheel sisters, and the wider Inner Wheel family connected and engaged throughout the year—sharing our projects, voices, milestones, and inspiring moments in small, meaningful bites.
As Editor, 2026–27, I feel privileged to introduce TTT as a prelude to our annual Tejomaya. For me, this is a beautiful coming together of my passion for storytelling and creativity with an opportunity to learn, discover, and understand the many dimensions of Inner Wheel through the work we do together.
As a designer and creative entrepreneur, I have always believed that creativity gives purpose a voice. I hope to bring that same spirit to these pages—celebrating not just what we do, but the people, stories, and emotions behind it.
Because every project has a story, every voice matters, and every act of service deserves to be seen.
We don't just report stories—we create them.
Together, we serve. Together, we inspire. Together, we grow.
TTT – The Tejo Times is one such refreshing innovation, a crisp, newspaper‑style prelude to Tejomaya that keeps members informed, engaged and connected while sustaining the club's narrative throughout the year.
It is a concept that truly deserves appreciation for its originality and contemporary appeal. As the Inner Wheel year 2026–27 unfolds, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and warmest good wishes to President Neha Batra. May her leadership be marked by vision, inclusivity, and purposeful service.
Know more → Inner Wheel (Wikipedia)My sincere compliments also go to Club Editor Sanchita Julka, whose creativity and editorial initiative have given TTT its distinctive voice. In an age of fleeting attention, The Tejo Times embraces brevity without sacrificing substance.
As we embrace the International Inner Wheel theme “Grow and Flourish”, may this publication strengthen the bonds of fellowship and illuminate lives with compassion, purpose and hope.
Passion finds purpose when it is shared

This year let us embrace the IIW theme “Grow & Flourish” given by IIW President and the Association Goals which includes Youth Development & Education, Fit Girl, Environment & Sustainability, Senior care, Drug Awareness and Inner Wheel branding given by Association President.
My sincere thanks to Club Editor Sanchita for inviting me to pen down my message for the Club publication “Tejomaya”. I conclude with a nice quote by Blake Lively —
“The most beautiful thing a woman can wear is confidence.”

Three years ago, I joined Inner Wheel with a very simple thought — I wanted to give something back. I thought I would give my time, my ideas, my skills, my energy — whatever little I could. I didn't know then that the giving would come back to me in so many unexpected ways.
A new friendship. A new perspective. A lesson I didn't know I needed. The courage to do something I once thought I couldn't.
We all live busy lives — our work, our families, our homes, our routines. It is so easy to stay within that circle. But when we step out, even in small ways, our world becomes larger — and so does our heart.
Somewhere along the way, I realised that service isn't really about giving something away. It is about discovering what comes back to you while you are giving. The more I gave, the more I grew.
Perhaps that is what Rooted in Purpose means to me — staying connected to something beyond ourselves, while allowing that connection to quietly transform us.
And perhaps the greatest surprise of all is this: we think we are changing someone else's life. But somewhere along the way, it changes ours.

A simple story about a young boy, a shopkeeper and an unexpected act of kindness — a reminder that giving has a way of coming back to us. Written by Kalki Koechlin, directed by Shlok Sharma.
“I want women to find the strength to fight domestic abuse. If I win a medal, my story might just inspire them to believe it's never really over.”
Those were Sharmila Dhankar's words before she left for the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. She didn't just win a medal. She made history. At 40, the Haryana para‑athlete became India's first‑ever Commonwealth Games gold medalist in para‑athletics, winning the women's Shot Put F57 with a season‑best throw of 9.81 meters. But the real victory lies in the journey behind that throw.
Struck by polio at the age of two, married young and later forced to walk away from an abusive marriage with her two daughters, B Sharmila had every reason to believe that life had closed its doors. Instead, she began again.
With the support of her mother and later her husband Ajit Singh, she discovered para‑athletics at an age when most athletes are already well into their careers. Her daughters, too, are now pursuing athletics — one in javelin and the other in long jump.
Her story is therefore much bigger than a gold medal. It is a reminder that no chapter of a woman's life has to be her final chapter. Sometimes, beginning again is the bravest victory of all.
Unjumble each word using the clue. Then take the circled letter from each answer to reveal the Word of the Issue.
…means standing firm in who you are, while moving forward for why you're here. The world needs fewer people who are busy, and more people who are rooted and purposeful. Because when you are rooted, you don't fear the storm. And when you have purpose, you don't waste the sunshine.
What happens when we are rooted with purpose? We stay calm in chaos — because our foundation is strong, we don't get tossed by every opinion or failure. We grow in the right direction, like a tree growing toward light, using our energy on things that matter to us. And we give shade to others — a rooted, purposeful person naturally supports, mentors, and uplifts people around them.
We are resilient: setbacks don't uproot us. They just make us grow new branches. To be “rooted” is to have depth. To have “purpose” is to have direction. When the two come together, we don't just exist — we grow, we give, and we stay steady no matter what the wind throws at us.
IWC Centenary Haldane Avenue has given me a purpose and a direction in life to serve and be human.

Every act of kindness, every shared moment, and every hand that reaches out strengthens the roots of our purpose. This quarter, our clubs have shown us that when we come together, small seeds of service can grow into lasting change.
We are deeply grateful to our outgoing team for their guidance and support, to our present Executive Team for standing together as one, and to our District, National and International office‑bearers whose vision, encouragement and leadership continue to inspire us.
With gratitude for the journey behind us and hope for the journey ahead, let us keep growing, serving and making a difference—one project, one person, one purpose at a time.
